On Wednesday, 21 November 2018, BAE Batterien GmbH had the pleasure to host a delegation of the ministry of electricity and renewable energy of Bolivia. Among the attendees were the vice minister of electricity and renewable energy, the general director of alternative energy company executives directors and as well the department heads and engineers who are involved in renewable energy development projects, both in public and private sectors of Bolivia.
This delegation was led by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit). Besides visiting BAE, they were visiting other German companies and consulting institutions in the region that have been involved in the development of renewable energy projects and in various projects in Bolivia.
The CEO of BAE, Mr. Jan IJspeert, welcomed the visiting guests with an introductory presentation outlining the high quality of BAE batteries that has been produced always onsite in Berlin since 1899. The BAE product manager Mr. Tarek Fakih presented some technical aspects of the different applications where lead batteries are a perfect fit for. Last but not least, BAE presented some references and projects that BAE has been installed and commissioned, with emphasis on very recent off-grid rural electrification projects in the Bolivian Amazons. In some of the mentioned projects in Bolivia, several of the guests were involved in the development, commissioning and inauguration of the finalised projects.
To wrap up the company visit, BAE offered to the Bolivian delegation a factory tour on the premises, to see first-hand the manufacturing process. BAE was very pleased to welcome the Bolivian delegation and hopes that the excellent partnership among the two countries will continue for many more projects and will become even closer.
